Impact/Purpose:
The purpose is to provide an overview of the ORD nanomaterial research program to the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office (NNCO) and the Nanomaterial Environmental and Health Implications (NEHI) subcommittees of the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI).
Description:
The product is the presentation - a draft set of slides is attached. The presentation is organized around a comprehensive framework for nanomaterial evaluation published last year (Boyes et al., 2017). The framework considers nanomaterial enabled products across their life span, the possibility of release of nanoparticles into the environment, fate transport and transformation of the materials, exposure and effects to environmental species and humans.
