.Network analytics for adverse outcome pathways

Citation:

Pollesch, N. .Network analytics for adverse outcome pathways. Twin Ports Early-Career Researcher Symposium, Duluth, MN, April 16, 2018.

Impact/Purpose:

Network analysis represents a set of mathematical and statistical techniques that are of broad interest across sciences. When applied to the increasingly complex Adverse Outcome Pathway Wiki (AOPWiki), patterns of use and emergent AOPs can be identified and all coded AOPs can be studied. This presentation will show the benefit of using network analytics to study AOPs as well as results that are useful for advancing and utilizing AOP knowledge.

Description:

Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs) organize toxicological knowledge from the molecular level up to the population level, providing evidence-based causal linkages at each step. The AOPWiki serves as a repository of AOPs. With the international adoption of the AOP framework, the AOPwiki is growing and new knowledge is emerging from unforeseen linkages among AOPs. This presentation will show recently developed network analysis techniques for sorting and prioritizing AOP knowledge derived from the AOPWiki network.
