Impact/Purpose:
This is a letter to the editor. It responsds to a letter to the editor critique received on a previously published paper: Kienzler, A.; Barron, M.G.; Belanger, S.E.; Beasley, A; Embry, M.R. Mode of Action (MOA) Assignment Classifications for Ecotoxicology: An Evaluation of Approaches. Environ. Sci. Technol. 2017, 51 (17), 10203ֱ0211. It is important to rebut unfounded criticism of our work; even for cases like this where the only EPA contribution was as a coauthor of a multi-authored journal article.
Description:
This letter to the editor that does not have an abstract. It explains mode of action in aquatic toxicology, and rebuts comments about our mode of action classification caused by confusion of the commenter.
