Description:

This special issue addresses air pollution control and waste management, two environmental problems that are usually considered separately. Indeed, one of the challenges of environmental protection is that problems are addressed in 'media-specific' ways. In reality, these problems involve all media and solving a problem in one medium, e.g. air, can exacerbate problems in another, e.g. soil or water.
