Impact/Purpose:

This talk will introduce a professional society of toxicologists and their LSU host (the Department of Environmental Sciences) to EPA/ORD's program characterizing open burning including sampling and health impact assessment.

Description:

This slide presentation will focus on Open Burning Sources of Air Pollution, with sections on Sources, Pollutants, Perspective, Quantification. The various sources of domestic and international open burning pollutants will be discussed. The focus pollutants and their effects will be described. These open sources of pollutants will be placed in perspective with levels from other US sources as well as for global emission sources. Finally, methods of Quantifying these emissions by novel sampling methods will be discussed.
