SPECIATE and using the Speciation Tool to prepare VOC and PM chemical speciation profiles for air quality modeling
Citation:
Strum, M., Mike Kosusko, AND T. Shah. SPECIATE and using the Speciation Tool to prepare VOC and PM chemical speciation profiles for air quality modeling. The 2017 International Emissions Inventory Conference, Baltimore, Maryland, August 14 - 18, 2017.
Impact/Purpose:
SPECIATE and the Speciation Tool support the development the triennial NEI Modeling Platforms and provide inputs to source apportionment/source receptor models, air toxics inventories and broad reports such as the Black Carbon Report to Congress. The United States (US) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s SPECIATE database contains speciation profiles for both particulate matter (PM) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are key inputs for creating chemically-resolved emission inventories for air quality modeling.
Description:
This product provides training to air pollution inventory and modeling professionals to understand the US EPA's SPECIATE database base and Speciation Tool and their use to develop speciated emission inventories.
