Tier 3 Certification Fuel Impacts Test Program
Tier 3 Certification Fuel Impacts Test Program. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C.
The recent Tier 3 regulations for light duty vehicles introduced a new certification fuel designed to be more characteristic of current market fuels. A laboratory test program was conducted to measure differences in CO2 and fuel economy between the current and future certification fuels, to be designated as "Tier 2" and "Tier 3," respectively.
The report will ultimately be referenced in a new rulemaking that will make adjustments to the test procedure.
