NONPOINT SOURCE MODEL CALIBRATION IN HONEY CREEK WATERSHED

Citation:

Cahill, T., R. Pierson, Jr., AND B. Cohen. NONPOINT SOURCE MODEL CALIBRATION IN HONEY CREEK WATERSHED. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C., EPA/600/3-79/054.

Description:

The U.S. EPA Non-Point Source Model has been applied and calibrated to a fairly large (187 sq. mi.) agricultural watershed in the Lake Erie Drainage basin of north central Ohio. Hydrologic and chemical routing algorithms have been developed. The model is evaluated for suitability as a land management tool in estimating the reduction in sediment associated phosphorus from cultivated land. Results indicate a very different impact for selected best management practices (BMP) estimated using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) gross erosion approach.
