Comparative LCA of Cooking Fuel Options in India and China

Citation:

Thorneloe, S. Comparative LCA of Cooking Fuel Options in India and China. LCA XV, Vancouver, CANADA, October 06 - 08, 2015.

Impact/Purpose:

More than 2.6 billion people in India and China use traditional cookstove fuels. Policies have focused on improving cookstoves versus fuel changes that often are more effective than an improved stove using biomass fuels such as firewood, dung, coal and crop residue. The goal of the study is to compare the environmental footprint of current and potential fuels and fuel mixes used for cooking within India and China. The presentation will provide an overview of the study and results.

Description:

The output from the study described above will be an EPA report, manuscript, and presentation to be presented at LCA XV in Vancouver, Canada.
