Description:
This poster and computer demonstration illustrates a sampling of the wide range of applications that are possible using the KINEROS2 - AGWA suite of modeling tools. Applications include: 1) Incorporation of Low Impact Development (LID) features; 2) A real-time flash flood forecast model which ingests radar data or alert rain gauge data; 3) An “urban” model element to efficiently represent developed, multi-structure settings, where runoff flows over various combinations of pervious and impervious surfaces before entering the adjacent street; 4) Rapid post-fire watershed assessments in which a burn severity map is ingested into AGWA; 5) Use of dynamic erosion formulations of the WEPP and RHEM (Rangeland Hydrology and Erosion Model) models; 6) An area of interest tool where AGWA will delineate and then model all watersheds within a defined boundary (political, management, administrative, etc.); and, 7) A pond tool that allows quick characterization of a range of pond and spillway geometries.
