Description:

EPA H2O allows user to: Understand the significance of EGS in Tampa Bay watershed; visually analyze spatial distribution of the EGS in Tampa Bay watershed; obtain map and summary statistics of EGS values in Tampa Bay watershed; analyze and compare potential impacts of development or a change in land use on EGS values in Tampa Bay watershed. EPA H2O analyzes data ranging from neighborhoods to regional scale. While this software tool uses data from the Tampa Bay region, advanced users are able to edit existing Tampa Bay data, as well as substitute different data sets for the Tampa Bay region and elsewhere (full download is required for this functionality). The tool is transportable to other locations, if the required data are available. Please note that data needs to be in specific format in order to be compatible with EPA H2O. The help manual describes procedures to arrange data for analyses in EPA H2O.

Purpose/Objective:

EPA H2O is a software tool designed to support research being conducted in the Tampa Bay watershed to provide information, data, and approaches and guidance that communities can use to examine alternatives when making strategic decisions to support environmentally sustainable futures. EPA H2O is a GIS based decision making tool that explores ecosystem goods and services (EGS) from this standpoint.
