Description:

Fenthion (CAS 55-38-9) is an organophosphorus (OP) insecticide used for field and post-harvest treatments of fruits and vegetables, an ectoparasiticide in livestock and pets, and as an insecticide for public health and commercial applications. As with all Cl’s, it inhibits acetylcholinesterase to produce neurotoxicity and death at high levels of inhibition. Its use has been cancelled in many countries, and is being restricted in many others, due to its high acute toxicity.
