Description:
Nanoparticles have attracted a great deal of attention is past years due to their enormous potential across a broad range of research disciplines. Harnessing nanoscale activity and selectivity can potentially provide extremely efficient systems for energy storage applications, environmental remediation, biomedical applications, and production of high added value chemicals and fuels energy needed for a future sustainable society. This introductory chapter is aimed to set the basis for the book that focuses on the topic of the environmentally sound preparation of nanoparticles and applications of some of these nonentities in various fields including those highlighted before.
