Impact/Purpose:

To find effective ways to use green infrastructure to achieve sustainable solutions to combined sewer overflows in the Lick Run Watershed.

Description:

The EPA is collaborating with the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati and its partners in Project Groundwork, on research for effective ways to use green infrastructure (GI) to achieve sustainable solutions to combined sewer overflows in the Lick Run Watershed. GI technologies being research include stream daylighting, rain gardens, permeable pavement, using vacant land as GI, economic effects of GI, and research that will aid in riparian zone restoration.
