Current Research in Land Use Impact Assessment

Impact/Purpose:

To inform EPA

Description:

There is a continuing debate on how to best evaluate land use impacts within the LCA framework. While this problem is spatially and temporally complex, recent advances in tool development are providing options to allow a GIS-based analysis of various ecosystem services given the appropriate data inputs. Current research in this area will be discussed in the context of a US-based biofuels case study.
