Proposed Methodology for Specifying Atrazine Levels of Concern for Protection of Plant Communities in Freshwater Ecosystems
Impact/Purpose:
This document describes a proposed methodology for setting levels of concern (LOCs) for atrazine in natural freshwater systems to prevent unacceptably adverse effects on the aquatic plant communities in those systems. LOCs regarding effects on humans and possible effects on amphibian development are the subjects of separate efforts. This first section of the document defines the issues to be addressed by the LOC methodology and provides a framework for this methodology. Section 2 reviews and describes data for inclusion in the methodology. Section 3 describes implementation of the methodology and examines its uncertainty
