Impact/Purpose:
The primary objective of this study was to determine whether a relationship exists between eutrophication and methyl mercury accumulation and distribution in stream ecosystems. We conducted laboratory mesocosm experiments to test the hypothesis that eutrophication alters MeHg uptake rates in simple food webs established in stream ecosystems.
