IRIS Toxicological Review of Thallium And Compounds (Final Report)
EPA is announcing the release of the final report, Toxicological Review of Thallium and Compounds: in support of the Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS). The updated Summary for Thallium and compounds and accompanying Quickview have also been added to the IRIS Database.

Impact/Purpose:
Thallium exists in monovalent and trivalent states. Thallium is released to the environment through the combustion of fossil fuels, refinement of oil fractions, the smelting of ferrous and non-ferrous ores, and by some other industrial processes such as cement production and brick works.
Description:
EPA has finalized the Toxicological Review of Thallium and Compounds: in support of the Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS). Now final, this assessment may be used by EPA’s program and regional offices to inform decisions to protect human health.
