Description:

SMARTe (Sustainable Management Approaches and Revitalization Tools electronic) is a web-based decision support tool being developed by the Office of Research and Development (ORD) in partnership with the Office of Brownfields and Land Revitalization (OBLR), the Interstate Technology Regulatory Council (ITRC) and the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF). SMARTe contains information, links, analysis tools, checklists, and case studies to help users overcome obstacles to site revitalization. It can be found at www.smarte.org and is freely available to the public. SMARTe is intended for all stakeholders with varying levels and types of expertise; however the primary audience is community members who are interested in educating themselves about the revitalization process. SMARTe 2008 also allows stakeholders to work together to evaluate reuse options for a specific site using My Project - a project-specific "web-space" to evaluate options using basic decision analysis.
