Citation:

PUCHEU-HASTON, C. M., L. B. COPELAND, AND M. D. WARD. EARLY BIOMARKERS OF ACUTE RESPIRATORY ALLERGEN EXPOSURE. Presented at Public Health Applications of Human Biomonitoring Meeting, Research Triangle Park, NC, September 24 - 25, 2007.

Impact/Purpose:

Research presentation

Description:

Rationale: Allergic asthma prevalence has been increasing in Western societies for several decades. Identification of potential allergens facilitates reduction in exposure and may reduce the risk of asthma development. Predictive models for recognition of sensitizers require the identification of biomarkers that differentiate the response of naïve individuals to allergens versus non-allergens.
