Description:
As part of the overall EPA effort to increase understanding of the distribution of air pollutants in near road environments, optical remote sensing techniques developed for area source measurement are being used to assess mobile source emissions and dispersion from roadway segments. To improve open-path detection capability for near road studies, NRMRL is investigating use of deep ultraviolet differential optical absorption spectroscopy (DUV-DOAS). The development of the DUV-DOAS system for time resolved near roadway NO concentration measurements is described and the results of a two week near road measurement campaign using two DUV-DOAS systems are discussed.
