GENOMIC COMPARISON OF IN VITRO AND IN VIVO EFFECTS OF ENDOCRINE DISRUPTORS ON FATHEAD MINNOW ( PIMEPHALES PROMELAS ) OVARIES REVEALS COMPENSATORY MECHANISMS. Presented at 14th Annual International Symposium: Pollutants in the Marine Environment (PRIMO), Florianopolis SC, BRAZIL, May 06 - 09, 2007.

Description:

This study investigates compensatory mechanisms and feedback control within Fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas) by comparing genomic and biochemical responses of ovary tissue exposed in vitro to those of ovaries from intact fish after exposure to two model steroidogenesis inhibitors, fadrozole, and ketoconazole.
