NATIONAL SURVEY OF CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL HEALTH CARE NEEDS (CSHCN)

Description:

The National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) was sponsored and funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the Health Resources and Services. Administration. The survey was conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The National Survey of CSHCN was conducted as a module of the State and Local Area Integrated Telephone Survey (SLAITS). The primary goal of this module is to assess the prevalence and impact of special health care needs among children. This survey explores the extent to which children with special health care needs (CSHCN) have medical homes, adequate health insurance, and access to needed services. Other topics include care coordination and satisfaction with care.
