DataFerrett is a data extraction software and a data mining tool that accesses data stored in TheDataWeb through the Internet. It can be installed as an application on your desktop or use a java applet with an Internet browser. Census Bureau and Bureau of Labor Statistics released the first version of a Federated Electronic Research, Review, Extraction and Tabulation Tool (FERRETT). This is a generalized search system for extracting and tabulating data across heterogeneous statistical data sources. DataWeb is a network of online data libraries. Topics include, census data, economic data, health data, income and unemployment data, population data, labor data, cancer data, crime and transportation data, family dyanmics, vital statistics data. Collaboration between the U.S. Census Bureau and the Centers for Disease Control.
