Description:

This Technical Guidance Document is intended to augment the numerous construction quality control and construction quality assurance (CQC and CQA) documents that are available far materials associated with waste containment systems developed for Superfund site remediation. In general, the manual is oriented to the remediation project manager (RPM) who must administer these projects. This document reviews the significant physical properties associated with construction materials used in waste containment designs and reviews the sampling and acceptance strategies required for Construction Quality Management. The first chapter reviews the minimum Federal regulatory requirements for waste containment systems. Key elements of these systems are identified. The second chapter reviews the key physical properties and conformance tests required to verify these properties. The third chapter reviews sampling methods and acceptance criteria that are used to verify key physical properties during construction
