Citation:

PEI Associates, Inc. INVENTORY OF TREATABILITY STUDY VENDORS - VOLUME 1. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, DC, EPA/540/2-90/003a, 1990.

Impact/Purpose:

to provide information

Description:

The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) amendments mandate the use of permanent solutions to the maximum extent practicable when remediating Superfund sites. Fundamental to achieving this goal is the use of treatment technologies that reduce the intrinsic threats posed by hazardous wastes. Treatability studies are an important component of the remedy evaluation and selection process; these studies provide valuable site specific data necessary to aid in the selection and implementation of the remedy. Therefore, EPA has initiated a treatability study program to facilitate the performance of and improve the quality of treatability studies. This document was developed to facilitate the performance of treatability studies by ensuring that requests for proposals (RFPs) for treatability studies are made available to the broadest subset of contractors who can perform such studies. This listing is not a pre-qualification of contractors, and all RFPs must be done in accordance with the Federal Acquistions Regulations. The information contained in this inventory has been organized into two volumes. Volume I provides listings of treatability study vendors organized by technology and contaminant groups. Volume II contains an alphabetical listing, by vendor name, of all of the information provided by the responding firms. The intended users of the document are Superfund remedial project managers and contractors who are involved in a procurement process to obtain a treatability study.
