Description:
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is describing the process, the underlying data, and the Inherent assumptions Involved in conducting the Inventory component of a life-cycle assessment (LCA) In order to facilitate understanding by potential users. This Inventory consists of an objective aggregation of the resource usage and environmental releases associated with a product, production process, package, or activity. The report includes a brief discussion of the history of LCAs, the basics of the LCA methodology, the procedural framework for conducting a lifecycle Inventory, and descriptions of th life-cycle stages.
