Description:

This publication is the result of a workshop and it is intended for publication through the SETAC Special Publication Series based on the proceedings from the SETAC sponsored workshop that was titles "Toxicity Identification Evaluation (TIE) Forum: What Works, What Doesn't, and Developments for Effluents, Ambient Wates and other Aqueous Media". Identification of contaminants in effluents, ambient waters, and sediments is necessary for sound management decisions for potential degradaion of the receiving water and determination of ecological risk, and source identification of the receiving water and determination of ecological risk, and source identification. Reviewers found the document to be highly useful in helping practioners determine which tools are good to use in toxicity reduction evaluation (TRE)/TIE investigations. Peer reviewers outside the agency found the publication to be is highly valuable and representing a lot of good work, good thoughts and innovative recommendations for current practices and recommendations for future research.
