MOVES-NONROAD model estimates nonroad emissions for specific states and counties for past and future years. These three reports together constitute an update to the Nonroad section of EPA’s MOVES201X tool/model. The peer review checks to see that the outcome of the update is based on valid assumptions and sound scientific judgements.
This report focuses on the methodology for estimating growth in NR engine populations as used in the MOVES201X-NONROAD emission inventory model. MOVES NR growth rates start with base year engine populations and estimate growth in the populations of NR engines, while applying constant annual activity values for every engine type in MOVES201X. Long term growth rates are addressed. The engine classifications and shares of NR populations are updated for Tier 4 CI engines as well as criteria emission rates for these engines. Finally, speciation values used to estimate organic aggregates (TOG, VOC), speciation profiles and toxic emission factors (PAH, metals, etc.) are updated for Tier 4 CI engines.
