Description:

This report summarizes the 1987 wet deposition precipitation chemistry data collected in North America and available in the Acid Deposition System (ADS) data base. nterpretative statistical analyses are not a focus of this report; however, users of the report will learn about major wet deposition monitoring networks in North America, the extent of their geographic coverage, and general characteristics of wet deposition for 1987. n overview of each network is given. nnual and seasonal (winter, summer) mosaic maps present the North American spatial pattern for hydrogen, sulfate, nitrate, ammonium and calcium ion concentration and deposition for 1987. n appendix lists 1987 annual statistical summaries for pH, hydrogen ion (derived from pH), and the ion species sulfate, nitrate, ammonium, calcium, chloride, sodium, magnesium and potassium. omputer-readable and printed copies are available for annual and seasonal (winter, spring, summer, fall) statistical summaries for all sites in the monitoring network.
