Impact/Purpose:

EPA’s bilateral relationship with Korea Water Partnership (KWP) in the Korean Ministry of Environment. is one of the Agency’s most significant. These two institutes have shared expertise and experience for the last two years to advance environmental protection and water treatment technology in support of both shared environmental priorities. KWP has shown an interest to keep this collaboration and build more specific collaborative research programs with EPA via MOU.

Description:

This invited presentation will cover the insight of research & development in water technology for the workshop entitled ‘Water Forum’. There are two main topics to be presented: 1) SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) and 2) CRADA (Cooperative Research and Development Agreement). This presentation contributes to Office of Research and Development’s Research Action Plan: Safe and Sustainable Water Research (SSWR)-Topic 3. Water Treatment and Infrastructure specifically for drinking water/distribution systems. Also, this research fits within one of Office of Water research priorities “Legionella in Drinking Water” to manage the risks posed by opportunistic premise plumbing pathogens.
