Description:
The purpose of this interactive workshop is to present and discuss active and passive acid mine wastes cleanup technologies and to discuss the apparent disconnect between their development and their implementation. The workshop addressed five main barriers to implementing innovative technologies; information sharing; research gaps; site characteristics; regulatory barriers; and financial limitations. Each topic is addressed by technical session breakout groups, representatives from the mining industries and regulatory agencies, and the workshop presenters on this CD.
