Impact/Purpose:

A method was developed to deposit Bacillus subtilis spores via aerosolization using a metered dose inhaler onto aluminum, galvanized steel, wood, carpet, and painted wallboard paper for biological agent decontamination and detection studies. Spore deposition on surfaces was examined using Bacillus subtilis (Bacillus atrophaeus) as a surrogate for Bacillus anthracis.
