Impact/Purpose:

This report documents an evaluation conducted by the EPA/ORD’s National Homeland Security Research Center (NHSRC) under the HSRP to: (1) identify radiological technologies potentially applicable to remediation of a wide-area RDD contamination event; (2) identify potential challenges involved in applying these technologies in the wide-area urban environment; and (3) provide recommendations for further development of promising methods and processes.
