Impact/Purpose:
The purpose of this literature review was to determine the state of scientific knowledge about the persistence of CDC-listed Category A agents (B. anthracis vegetative cells, Yersinia pestis, Francisella tularensis) since the Sinclair et al. (2008) article was published and to several Category B agents (Brucella species, Burkholderia pseudomallei, Coxiella burnetti, and viral encephalitis and hemorrhagic fever agents) that were not addressed by Sinclair et al. (2008).
