Impact/Purpose:

The United States Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) execute related missions in biodefense response and recovery. There are mutual interests in understanding more about Bacillus anthracis (Ba) reaerosolization and any associated public health risks. These organizations are partnering through the Scientific Program on Reaerosoliza¬tion and Exposure (SPORE). The primary objective of SPORE is to develop an understanding of reaerosolization to make informed decisions regarding response and mitigation activities that will reduce the risks associated with a Ba release.
