Impact/Purpose:

This presentation will be given to the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) via webinar. NEHA requested that EPA provide an update for their members on the current state of knowledge on the health effects of wildfire smoke and tools and resources available for public health officials to help mitigate effects in the populations they serve.

Description:

The presentation will cover air quality and health impacts of wildland fires, EPA's wildfire-related tools and resources such as the Smoke-Ready Toolbox, AirNow, the Wildfire Smoke Guide for public health officials, and Smoke Sense, other EPA tools and resources relating to air pollution, and research and communications initiatives that ORD is undertaking to better understand the health impacts of wildfire smoke.
