Impact/Purpose:
Coastal recreation can be impacted by changes in water quality. We have conducted several different research efforts to understand the impacts of water quality degradation or to develop baseline information on recreational use in coastal waters.
Description:
We will be presenting at EPA Region 1’s Regional Beaches Meeting on our ongoing work analyzing the impacts of beach closures on communities and connecting coastal recreation with water quality change. The meeting is for the states’ beach managers to discuss administrative and regulatory concerns and learn about ongoing research efforts.
