Impact/Purpose:

The database is intended to facilitate queries relating the physical and chemical properties of nanomaterials with their environmental actions. NaKnowBase is currently located on an internal EPA server and access is available to those with an EPA user account.

Description:

NaKnowBase is an internal relational database populated with data from peer-reviewed ORD nanomaterials research publications. The database focuses on papers describing the actions of nanomaterials in environmental or biological media including their interactions, transformations and potential adverse environmental or toxicological effects. The database enables meta-analyses and quantitative structure activity relationships linking nanomaterial physical and chemical properties to their environmental fate, transport, transformation, exposure, and hazard.
