Triadimefon
Impact/Purpose:
A physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model was recently developed for triadimefon in rats, with extrapolation to human equivalent doses based on the rat no-effect levels. The authors suggest reverse metabolism from triadimenol back to triadimefon as an explanation for the longer than predicted residence time in tissues.
Description:
Triadimefon (CAS 43121-43-3) is a broad spectrum systemic fungicide. The nervous system is the most sensitive target and serves as the basis for most regulatory assessments. Triadimefon is also a carcinogen and reproductive toxicant at high doses in rodent models.
