MODEL DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION FOR TRICHLOROETHYLENE METABOLISM IN HUMANS

Citation:

YOKLEY, K. AND M. V. EVANS. MODEL DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION FOR TRICHLOROETHYLENE METABOLISM IN HUMANS. Presented at SIAM Annual Meeting, Boston, MA, July 11 - 12, 2006.

Description:

Trichloroethylene (TCE) is an industrial chemical and an environmental contaminant. TCE and its metabolites may be carcinogenic and affect human health. Physiologically based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models that differ in compartmentalization are developed for TCE metabolism, and the focus of this investigation is on evaluating alternative models. Specifically, the model structures are compared through sensitivity analyses in order to discern what is necessary and what can be ignored computationally.
