Impact/Purpose:
The Cyanobacteria Assessment Network's mission is to support the environmental management and public use of U.S. lakes and reservoirs by providing a capability to detect and quantify algal blooms and related water quality using satellite data records.
Description:
Specific goals: • Create a systematic method to detect cyanobacteria blooms using satellite data • Develop an information dissemination system for expedient public health advisory postings • Understand the connections between health, economic, and environmental conditions and cyanobacteria
