Citation:
Tan, C. Evolving PBPK applications in regulatory risk assessment: current situation and future goals. Physiologically-based kinetic modeling in risk assessment – reaching a whole new level in regulatory, Ispra, ITALY, November 17 - 18, 2016.
Impact/Purpose:
Cecilia Tan is co-chairing a workshop titled “Physiologically-based kinetic modeling in risk assessment – reaching a whole new level in regulatory decision-making” with the Joint Research Centre on November 17-18. She will lead, at this workshop, the development of a “good PBPK modeling practices” workflow, which can then act as the foundation to guide the generation and use of in vitro and in silico data during construction of PBPK models designed to support regulatory decision making in European countries.
Description:
The presentation includes current applications of PBPK modeling in regulatory risk assessment and discussions on conflicts between assuring consistency with experimental data in current situation and the desire for animal-free model development.
