In vivo laboratory studies of PFAS mixture effects on maternal, fetal, and neonatal health - Georgetown CPAC

Impact/Purpose:

PFAS mixtures research is a very high-profile topic for health-based researchers and risk assessment and regulatory agencies.  This presentation reviews recently published PFAS mixture toxicity experiments conducted in EPA/ORD.  In our work we conducted exposures to pregnant animals and evaluated effects on both maternal animals and their offspring.  This work has been recently cited as supported for the EPA Proposed National Primary Drinking Water Regulation for PFAS.  There is a high level of interest in conducting and evaluating PFAS mixture studies and this is an invited presentation to the Georgetown University Center for PFAS and Cancer Joint Virtual Symposium.

Description:

This Subproduct is a slide deck for an invited presentation at the Georgetown University Center for PFAS and Cancer (CPAC) Joint Virtual Symposium.  Slide deck presents the results of our group's PFAS developmental toxicity mixture studies.  This work demonstrates the dose additivity of several PFAS on multiple maternal and offspring endpoints.  The data presented has been published in two peer-reviewed publications and generally describes mixture-based approaches to an audience of scientists, most of whom do not conduct mixture studies.  This is an invited presentation and there is no associated abstract for the Symposium.
