Description:
This presentation provides educational materials, case studies, and tools to support the implementation of the sustainability principles identified in the September 29, 2023 Memorandum entitled "Incorporating Sustainability Principles in Cleanup Enforcement Actions Under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act." The seven Sustainability Principles for Environmental Cleanups are: 1) Climate change adaptation, mitigation, and resilience, 2) ecosystem services, 3) environmental justice, 4) greener cleanups, 5) long term stewardship, 6) sustainable reuse, and 7) traditional ecological knowledge. This is targeted to the Environmental Compliance and Resiliency audience as part of the Federal Environmental Symposium.
