Provisional Peer Reviewed Toxicity Values for Methylcyclohexane

Citation:

U.S. EPA. Provisional Peer Reviewed Toxicity Values for Methylcyclohexane. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, DC, EPA/690/R-23/007F, 2023.

Impact/Purpose:

The purpose of this document is to provide support for the hazard and dose-response assessment pertaining to chronic and subchronic exposures to substances of concern, to present the major conclusions reached in the hazard identification and derivation of the PPRTVs, and to characterize the overall confidence in these conclusions and toxicity values. It is not intended to be a comprehensive treatise on the chemical or toxicological nature of this substance.

Description:

This PPRTV was requested by the Office of Land and Emergency Management (OLEM). PPRTV assessments support the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). These assessments support EPA's Superfund program to: manage the cleanup of the nation's worst hazardous waste sites, transform wastelands into economic and productive uses again, and respond to local, state, and nationally significant environmental emergencies. The PPRTV assessments provide support for the hazard and dose-response assessment pertaining to chronic and subchronic exposures to substances of concern, present the major conclusions reached in the hazard identification and derivation of the provisional toxicity values, and characterize the overall confidence in these conclusions and toxicity values. Read-across approaches are applied to the evaluation of data poor chemicals where little to no data is available for the chemical of concern.
