Citation:

Brown, C. EPA’s Coastal Nutrient Research. Climate - Water Quality Workshop, Corvallis, OR, September 21, 2023.

Impact/Purpose:

EPA and NOAA staff will be participating in “EPA-NOAA Climate- Water Quality Workshop” to discuss common research interests on water quality in a changing climate with the goals of fostering collaboration, leveraging current research activities, and advancing our Agencies’ missions. This presentation provides an overview of EPA Coastal Research for including tools available to characterize nutrient inputs and the response of several endpoints including primary producers, hypoxia, acidification, benthic communities, and ecosystem response. We also include summary of model products being developed to assess nutrient-related stressors and ecosystem recovery in freshwater and coastal ecosystems.
