Impact/Purpose:

This presentation provides an overview of research associated with remediation following a chemical incident and makes connections to various aspects of the Operational Testing and Evaluation of Chemical Remediation Activities (OTECRA) full-scale field test.  Local, state and federal responders can benefit from this research with new information and tools to ensure community resilience to a chemical incident release that threatens public health and welfare.

Description:

Presentation to attendees of the Operational Testing and Evaluation of Chemical Remediation Activities (OTECRA) visitor day  describing the connection between the bench scale research and this full-scale test. The purpose of this field test is to test and evaluate EPA remediation response capabilities following an incident with a highly toxic and persistent chemical in an indoor facility.
