Citation:
Krause, M. EPA’s Ongoing Research into PFAS Destruction Technologies - Wisconsin DNR. Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources PFAS Task Force, Cincinnati, OH, February 18, 2022.
Impact/Purpose:
Update the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources PFAS Task Force on the various efforts being led by ORD personnel in regards to conventional and innovative PFAS destruction technologies. The presentation will highlight ongoing projects related to incineration, pyrolysis, supercritical water oxidation, electrochemical oxidation, and ball milling of PFAS-laden materials. The data included in this presentation is secondary. It was produced externally (from non-EPA sources) or was already published in peer reviewed literature.
Description:
Various technologies are being explored by EPA's ORD to identify their efficacy for PFAS destruction. This presentation will highlight ongoing work in areas of incineration, pyrolysis, supercritical water oxidation, and ball milling of PFAS-containing materials. The presentation will inform atendees about the technical readiness or applicability of technologies to different waste streams.
