Impact/Purpose:
After a successful virtual exchange with Taiwan EPA and an international audience in November 2020 on the use of High Resolution Site Characterization (HRSC) tools and strategies, a participant and associate editor for the Journal for Environmental Engineering asked to co-author an introduction to HRSC article. The 2020 collaborative exchange included EPA ORD, OLEM, and OITA working to provide information on the state of practice and case studies for HRSC.

This non-technical article serves to highlight the use of HRSC tools an strategies for site characterization and remediation in EPA Superfund and tanks programs.
